Mechanical Test Engineer

Position Title: Mechanical Test Engineer
Reports to: Mechanical Department Manager

Key responsibilities include:
• Coordinating mechanical lab testing activities.
• Conducting tensile, elevated temperature tensile, stress rupture and creep, Charpy impact, compression, electrical conductivity and hardness testing.
• Writing and/or reviewing internal testing procedures.
• Maintaining equipment operation manuals and calibration records.
• Designing test fixtures as needed.
• Developing and maintaining good relationships with customers.
• Conducting mechanical equipment maintenance.
• Ordering mechanical lab supplies.
• Following stringent quality procedures such as Nadcap.
• Providing leadership in the mechanical department.
• Training technicians as needed.
• Possibly being involved with initial test equipment installation.
• Familiar with material laboratory Quality system, such as, ISO17025 and Nadcap.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor degree or above in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
• Minimum five (5) years laboratory experience in the key responsibilities above.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications, and Licenses:
• Ability to understand and follow specifications such as ASTM and ASM.
• Good report writing skill both in Chinese and English.
• Good command of English verbal and reading.
• Good command of computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Familiarity with lean and 5S activities.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 25 pounds

Metallurgical Test Engineer

Position Title: Metallurgical Test Engineer
Reports to: Metallurgical Department Manager

Key responsibilities include:
• Coordinating metallurgy lab test activities.
• Interpreting microstructures for steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium and nickel based super alloys.
• Operation of optical microscope, micro-hardness tester and digital imaging.
• Writing and reviewing internal metallographic and corrosion test procedures.
• Preparing samples for metallurgical, corrosion and chemical analysis.
• Conducting corrosion tests with salt and acidic solutions.
• Maintaining equipment operation manuals and calibration records.
• Conducting metallographic equipment maintenance.
• Ordering metallographic lab supplies, chemicals and standard test blocks for micro-hardness testers.
• Following stringent quality procedures such as Nadcap.
• Providing leadership in the metallurgy department.
• Training technicians as needed.
• Developing and maintaining good relationships with customers.
• Possibly being involved with initial test equipment installation.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor or Master’s degree or above in Metallurgy or Materials Science and Engineering
Experience:
• Minimum five (5) years laboratory experience in the key responsibilities above.
• Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) experience is desirable but not required.
• Corrosion related testing experience is preferred
Additional Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications, and Licenses:
• Strong knowledge of specifications such as ASTM and ASM.
• Good report writing skill both in Chinese and English.
• Good command of English verbal and reading.
• Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Familiarity with performing and leading lean and 5S activities.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
